PLASTICS TECHNOLOGY LABORATORIES, INC.
INTRODUCES XENON ARC WEATHERING
Pittsfield, Massachusetts – Plastics
Technology Laboratories, Inc, (PTLI) the independent testing laboratory
dedicated to plastics, elastomers and composites introduces Xenon Arc
Weathering to expand its capabilities in support of applications for
automotive and building and construction. PTLI has constructed a lab facility
containing multiple weatherometer machines to provide xenon-arc artificial
sunlight exposure for a variety of industry exposure methods including SAE
J1960, SAE J1885 and ASTM G155. Features of the new facility include climate
control, and an ultra-pure deionized water system for specimen spray and
humidity control, supplied by Harris Weathering Products, Inc.
PTLI utilizes the latest technology from Atlas Electric, the
Ci4000 Weatherometer® to achieve exposure up to 2X solar irradiance. Virtually
any combination of test parameters can be programmed, including those used for
the new GE Corporate R&D method, GE CRD Highly Predictable Accelerated
Weathering protocol. PTLI can expose standard plaques, ASTM/ISO specimens,
or fabricated end-use parts. PTLI has the ability to supply specimens machined
from end use parts or sheet products, and fabricate special holders. Added to
the existing QUV apparatus, PTLI can now deliver a complete program ranging from
Xenon-arc exposure to post-exposure color and mechanical testing.
Complete details on exposure and testing can be found on the
PTLI website at www.ptli.com. PTLI is
accredited to ISO 17025 by A2LA, the American Association for Laboratory
Accreditation.
